Seven questions to ask before sourcing fresh wasabi.

WASABI FIELD EditorialReviewed: 2026-10-13

Make your first sourcing conversation more useful than a price request. This editorial checklist helps organise questions for a potential supplier.

What this guide covers
Three product questions · Three delivery questions · One problem-resolution question

Three product questions

Ask about format, actual origin, and how size or weight is specified. Explain whether you need whole rhizomes or a prepared product. Keep the supplier’s response with the product specification.

Three delivery questions

Ask about dispatch timing, management during transport and handling after arrival. This checklist does not establish import eligibility for any country. Destination-specific requirements need separate confirmation with relevant authorities and qualified operators.

One problem-resolution question

Ask whom to contact, what records are needed and how promptly to report a delivery issue. Agreeing on the product and process makes the subsequent price conversation more meaningful.
